I signed up for the credit monitoring and didn't realize at the time that if I'd gotten the report from TransUnion, it WOULD been FREE. I did, however, cancel within the 30 days (the lady I talked to, Sierra, tried her best to talk me out of it, even offered it to me for $4.00 a month instead, but I was pretty clear or so I thought, when I told her I was only in it for the free report, that I had seen it, and now wanted to cancel. Imagine my surprise when my credit card was billed anyway. When I called to complain, the man I talked to, Jared, told me the last time I called I had agreed to keep the service. When I told him there was NO WAY, he put me on hold for a few minutes and came back and said he would process my cancellation. When I asked about a refund of the charges billed to my credit card, he told me he couldn't process a refund, and that they didn't give refunds. After I reemed him out, he put me on hold again, came back and said it would be processed and returned to me. So much for customer service. I'll be complaining to the BBB also.
When you log onto the freecreditreport.com site, DON'T CHOOSE EXPERIAN! My husband's report came from TransUnion, and they don't ask for credit card information.
