IN I sold a car, or so I thought. Several months later I received a bill from RICKENBACKER telling me I owed hundreds of dollars for towing and storage. The bill was turned over to them from a local towing company.
I work to keep my credit clean, so I paid them what they said would SETTLE the account. They sent me a letter thanking me, and the account was paid in full.
Months later they demanded more, I was intimidated because I couldnt find the receipt. And gave the lady my credit card number. Just as I gave it to her my husband found the receipt. I told her NOT to use my credit card. I would send her a copy of the receipt, stating PAID IN FULL, debt satisfied.
Well you guessed it. They charged my credit card, and was mad when they HAD to give it back. I did not authorize it. They sent to EQUIFAX and EXPERIAN credit bereaus a bad debt against me. I protested, sent in my paperwork to EXPERIAN, and they removed it. I still need to contact EQUIFAX.
As of June I received another threatening letter from them. I called to explain it was paid. They didnt want to hear it. Here I go again!
