Well, I thought I was doing the smart thing by adding disability coverage to my policy, but as it appears many, many others have found out (as I see posted everywhere on the Internet) I was wrong. What a nightmare. If I had only known, I would have taken a "light-duty" job, but my agent (as though she was out to get me) insured me (no pun) that this was not necessary, that I would be compensated. Hmmm. She never returned a single phone call. I could only reach her by masking my caller ID.
Every time I talked to a customer service rep, I was told something different, that now they needed this or that, when the previous rep said everything was in place. I think I gave them too much info — that I would be homeless if this wasn't resolved soon. Knowing this they could stall me until I was no longer able to follow up.
I have now lost everything I have worked so hard for by placing my trust in an AFLAC agent. I cannot not return to work, I cannot afford to pay my medical bills or my premiums since my employer will no longer pay them I have no income to deduct them form. Catch 22 to the power 200.
Stay away from the duck!!!
