First Capital Credit Card
Is fraudulent ripoff business that stole money from account

The Capital First Credit Card Company called me over the phone offering a credit card. I am a recent high school graduate just entering my first year of college. I told the representative over the phone I want a card but not one that I have to pay to get. The representative told me that my credit was good and I work three different part time jobs so if I had a checking or saving account the card would be sent.

I told the representative that I had a savings account. They wanted the saving account number and I did not want to give it. The representative told me they needed a number to prove I actually had an account as I claimed. Dumb move by me and I knew better. Well they never sent a card and took money from my account. I closed the account but lost $129 dollars before I caught on to what they were doing.

I was going to pay for some books and my account was low because of this company taking my money. I called the number listed in my credit union as the phone service removing my money. The number is 866-892-6018 and told them all of the above and that I wanted my money back. They said they could not help me. I asked them for the address and name of the company taking my money and they said they could not tell me.

I told them this was in violation of federal law and since they were also using the telephone lines that they could be prosecuted. They then told me to hold and put on a supervisor that started telling me the same thing. I told them I wanted their name and they told me that they could not give it to me. I told them again that it was federal law and the lady said her name was Rhonda. The first one was named Lettica and Rhonda would not give either of their last names. Rhonda gave me the name of the company as Capital First, 18495 S. Dixie Hwy, Suite 228, Miami, Florida, 33157. This was on July 10 and they agreed to send a refund package in 7 days.

They also said that they had a recording and I told them that I told their representative no pay for any card. The representative did read something off fast at the end and kept going back and forth with me when I told him I would not pay to get a card. I was assured my working, no debts, having a saving account, and going to college would prevent any cost to me. On July 23, I contacted this company again as no refund package arrived as promised in 7 days.

This time they put me through the same I can not give names, addresses, etc. And I had to tell them they were in violation of federal law and they have to disclose this if I ask for it. They told me they had to check their computer to see and then came back on to say that they had to review a tape of what I agreed to. I told them they appeared to have the same problem as ENRON, and I did not trust anything they said was on a tape that they were already suppose to have reviewed on July 10.

They said they would send off a refund package and I would receive it in 7 days. Well, 7 days again has come and gone and no refund package. I will report them to the Better Business Bureau, California Attorney General Bill Lockyer, and file a small claims against them at my local court. I will also try to contact the Federal Communications since they use the telephone to call between states to set people up. I will also try to see if maybe would like to file a court class action seeking refunds for those who have been mistreated like me.
