We bought our first home last year and had our loan sold to HomeQ. I thought "Okay, no problem" but boy was I wrong!
HomeQ's monthly billing statements indicate the "Payment Due By" date as the first of the month. HOWEVER, NO late charge is assessed until the tenth of the month. My understanding that these days inbetween are our grace period. Besides, we get paid every other Friday, regardless of the date.
Well then we start to receive these phone calls on the second of the month, every month, from some discourteous HOMEQ rep. The questions are always the same..."We didn't receive our payment yesterday by 5. Is there something you're hiding from us?"
We usually bring up that they need to specify on their statements exactly when payments are considered "late". When it says the tenth, well, you'll receive your payment on the ninth.
Oh, and NEVER in my life have I had any company call and HARRASS me on a Sunday afternoon. YES! We received a call in the month of July. I could NOT believe it and was so thankful that my husband picked up the phone instead of me. Had it been me, I would have reached out and slapped someone.
And all the times we've asked to speak with a Supervisor, we're always given the number to someone in Collections. Hmmm, maybe it's something they're hiding.
All-in-all HomeQ has real bottom-of-the-barrel business ethics and sub-standard customer service. The mere thought of them gives me ulcers.
