Due to an injury and time away from work months earlier our finances became strained. I unwisely in an attempt to make ends meet applied and received a payday loan, which seemed to help till it was due then I had to apply for another to cover the first loan and keep food in our house.
I applied and received a loan and $59 was taken which left me short (which I was able to find the thief and demand a refund which showed up about a month later) so I needed another loan to cover that shortage. I began juggling a few more payday loans then I noticed $159.00 taken from my account.
I called the company that stole it and was told basically that they were a middle man and they couldn't help me get my money back because it had been 3 days which is how long it took to appear on my account and for me to get a hold of them. I left a few nasty emails demanding my money back which didn't help. Needless to say it drove me deeper into payday loans.
Here I am about 2 months later my bank accounts are closed and I receive nonstop calls from payday companies and today 4/13/07 a prepaid acclaim MasterCard shows up in the mail. I checked it out to find that after they stole $159.00 I was charged a $59 activation fee and am left with a card with a -. 01 balance. Now that I activated it (which I did to see if the other $100.00 was on the card) they think they can stick me for about $5 a month fee.
I am now having a hard time canceling this worthless piece of plastic. I know that I will never see my money. I have to fix the mess this has caused in my family's life and basically all I can do is hope that karma is real and just!!
