I started a new job last November and was told it would provide dental insurance, the employees have to pay a portion of the premiums. I had dental insurance at my last employer and my daughter is in the middle of being treated with braces.
All the appointments prior to December 06 have been paid by the dental insurance that my old employer had. When I submitted the claims for my daughters Dec. And Jan. Appointments I was told (for the first time) that they were not be covered since her treatment started before the effective date of the First Ameritas dental plan.
Now I am paying premiums and not getting anything in return. On top of that you can't drop the insurance until you've been on it for two years. I will be out over $1600 for the premiums and another $800 that I have to pay the Orthodontist.
