CPS improperly repo'd vehicle ripoff

OK, long story short, CPS repo'd vehicle based on info given to them by my former landlord. I travel a lot, and was gone for a week and came home to find my car was gone. No notices, nothing from CPS... And yes unfortunately I was behind, but they were working with me on getting caught up.

It should be noted at this point that I was getting ready to move to Illinois from Florida, and my landlord knew that. He may have thought I was gone already, and his son went into my car and found a statement from CPS and called them, telling them I had left Florida and they should get the car off his property or he would impound it and charge daily storage fees to them.

Anyway, CPS has yet to send me anything in the mail, registered or certified, as to what they did with my car... Assuming it was sold at a loss. They have sent me bills and threatening letters to take me to court, but I have been sending them checks the last 4 months, for $25.00 each, as a token... They cash the checks, so I'm wondering if this would be a valid argument if they ever do try to sue me...

Anybody know? Appreciate any help!
