I got served in early Nov for a citibank credit card from the late 90's. The lawyers are Lloyd & McDaniels from Louisville, KY.
I immediately called my prepaid provider who researched the case and told me the old it's a written contract blah blah blah. I told him wrong and to refer me. Another lawyer told me the same thing, written contract blah blah blah.
I got the prepaid lawyer to send a validation letter to the plantiff and since I couldn't get any real help, I filed my own answer saying the lawsuit was frivolous and to be thrown out. Also included that if judge didn't throw it out I wanted complete validation. Sent copy to Lawyers and Asset Acceptance.
5 weeks later and Assets lawyers are asking for 30-60 more days to get info but at same time saying they would accept a settlement. The prepaid lawyer wants me to give them the time and consider a settlement since Asset is threatening endless discovery and litigation. I'm fed up that I can't find a legitimate lawyer to get this junk thrown out.
