National City Bank Mortgage
Trying to STEAL a House that is Paid OFF!

In April I paid off my house. I had never paid off a house before, so I didn't realize that there was to be paperwork to come to me (release of mortgage.)

Jan 8th I received a summons for a foreclosure. LOL I thought that was strange, since I didn't have a mortgage at the time.

Well I started calling and found it very difficult to get a 'live' person, let alone one that had any authority in such a strange matter. To make matters worse, by either merger, or outright sale, my (nonexistent) mortgage was bought and sold 5TIMES! A moving target! It ended up with National City Bank in 2004.

After many months searching for a voice of reason in a Terminal Hold and 'accidentally hung-up' world. I got them to drop the foreclosure in Oct and sat back and waited for my Release of Mortgage.

After Several months, I visited them in person, with copies of all my documentation The girl behind the Bullet proof window (AND WE KNOW WHY IT IS BULLET PROOF!) asked, "May I help you?" Me: "yes, I need to get my release of Mortgage" Her: " OK, has it been 90 days?" Me: "Yes, 5 years actually. And Id like to talk to a Supervisor." Her: " wow! Please take a seat and I will get someone for you"

So I took a seat and waited over an hour. After complaining about the wait, a little girl of NO MORE than 18 yrs of age (I would swear 16 but she must have been 18 to work there) came out and I protested that I had asked to talk to a boss, she that she was just there to receive my paperwork I had brought to give them. I coulda done that with the girl at the window...

After waiting a couple of months, and numerous phone calls not returned, They sued me for foreclosure again-!!

This time I got an Attorney and after negotiations, he said it looked like in the 6 yrs after I paid off my house, they had paid out $17,000 in Taxes and insurance, (even though I was calling ALL the time telling them not to) and since I hadn't paid it, (I couldn't stop them from paying it, and saw no reason to pay it double, though in hindsight I wish I had) He suggested I re-imburse them 11,000. We agreed and they were to file this agreement by July 15th.

HERES WHERE I GET RIPPED OFF EVEN WORSE THAN BEING CHEATED OUT OF MY CLEAR TITLE! I applied for and GOT a 35K Mortgage to pay them the 11K and a lil xtra.
They were to file the agreement entry by July 15th. My Mortgage was approved. They knew that, and PURPOSLY DIDNT FILE THE ENTRY TILL OCTOBER! MY APPROVED MORTGAGE EXPIRED, (THE CHECKS WERE ONLY GOOD FOR 90 DAYS!)

I then applied for another mortgage and they said with my credit score, I had to take out $50K. Ok? It was all but approved, however NATIONAL CITY SENT A NOTICE TO THE TITLE COMPANY THAT MY HOUSE WAS IN ACTIVE FORECLOSURE EVEN THOUGH, WITH THE AGREED SETTLEMENT, IT WAS NOT! CO*-BLOCKED AGAIN BY NATIONAL CITY!!!

Between two foreclosures and making me walk away from a APPROVED mortgage, Sending false documents to title companys, my credit score is now down to 525 and I am NOW UNABLE to get financing. I told my attorney I wanted him to withdraw my offer to settle, and I got a nasty letter from him saying I agreed to the terms and had to either find financing or sell my house.

So sadly after living here for 30 years, raising 3 kids, and burying two, all the happy times, making this house just how I wanted it, all the memories, I will now lose it all. Thank you national city and merry christmas.
