I called Lease Finance Group during May to ask to pay off my account and terminate the lease. I was asked to pay $1626.40 in order for me to get out of my agreement. So I give them my credit card and they charged that amount on my credit card. I asked them to send me a receipt for the amount that I was charge or any document that could show that I have paid the account off and no longer owe anything to LFG. I was told by rep to call back in a week to ask for a Letter of Termination (LOT). I called back in week, they said they are in process of sending out the letter. I waited a month, did not see anything from them in mail. I called back again to ask for it to be faxed. I waited another month and did not get a fax. I called back again today (9/7/06) to see what happened, I was told that my account is showing bankruptcy! I was shocked! I have not file any Bankruptcy!
I was calling to see why I have to wait so long for a Letter of Termination and yet I was told my account is showing Bankruptcy!!! I immediately ask the rep why it shows bankruptcy, she said she doesn't have that information neither and transferred me to the Bankrupty department. I waited and no one pick up, but I was so anxious to find out the answer. So I called back to the same number again (888) 321-2307. This time a gentleman answer my call. I told him my situation, but then he said the Bankruptcy does not show on his system. So I asked him then why was I told what I was told. He said casually to me "probably someone just made a mistake." I confirmed again with him, "someone just made a mistake? How could someone just made that kind of mistake?" He not only did not sound apologetic but he got irritated when I tried to confirm his answer and THEN he HUNG UP on me! I was mortified! I immediately called back, a different rep answered. I told him what just happened to me. But it sounded like he didn't think it was a big deal. However, he put on me hold to see if he could find out why my account is showing bankruptcy. After I felt I have waited like a century, he hold me "I don't know why the bankruptcy shows on here. I have to email Chicago and find out the answer. So just call back in a week." He hurried and hang out.
Since I didn't get an answer, I decided to call Chicago myself. So I dialed (312) 980-5600 and got connected to a rep. Surprisingly, the lady that I spoke with the first time picked up! I told her I didn't get an answer from the Bankruptcy department and the encounter I have with the other reps. She simply said to me "maybe he is having a bad day." Then she gave me the number (800) 683-5433 to call tomarrow (since is already 5pm EST) and to speak with a lady name Aracelis Diaz to see if she have the information. So I'm waiting to call in tomarrow and see what she have to tell me. I will update this once I get to speak with someone tomarrow. Meanwhile, I suggest you guys just do not do business or have anything to deal with this company at all!!! Also, please post in here if you can give me any advise on what to do.
