I have been fighting a nightmare that I thought was over but apparently is not, with these two companies. Since January of this year when my husband and I needed a payday loan due to our daughter being in hospital for cancer treatment, we went to Canada Cash Advance in our home town of Sarnia, Ontario. Unfortunately the cheque was returned and my husband went in and paid the amount owed to the company right away. Since this has happened both Canada Cash and Cutter Recovery have repeatedly gone into our bank acount and taken over $1400 out. We were fortunate enough that our credit union helped us recover most of our money but then we closed the account due to they didn't stop.
We closed our bank account in March and even though the account was closed and they were paid well beyond what we owed they continued to try to make withdrawals from the closed account. Then last Friday, July 21, my husband went to pay our mortgage and the account was empty, our new account!!! I went in today and had it straightened out with the credit union but it was Cutter Recovery again. How did they get authorization to go into our new account? I have been on the phone with the Ontario and Alberta Government Services and the Better Business Bureau of Sarnia and Edmonton and no one seems to have any answers as to how we can stop this from happening. They are costing us hundreds of dollars in bank fees, phone calls and just my time. My daughter's health makes it difficult for us financially and this is not the stress we need. This company has never tried to contact us either by mail or by phone. When I asked the bank how we can stop them from having access to our new account they had no answers. Someone please tell me what to do about this!
