July 14 - My wife went to the store to purchase some groceries and her Debit card to our checking account was showing declined. The following day we went to our local WELLS FARGO Bank to find out what the problem was. The teller looked into it and showed nothing irregular, and that I had plenty of money in my account.
I tried using my ATM later that evening and was told that they were unable to process my request. I went to the grocery again on Sunday and wrote a check and my check was declined. I called Wells Fargo and was told that a "hold" had been placed on my account by Mike Blalack of Blalack & Williams on behalf of Credit Union of Texas for a judgement against me. I am unable to access any of my own money for living expenses and the bank is now refusing checks and payments I'm making to my other creditors.
I and my family were affected by 9/11 in so much as my company had massive layoffs afterwards.in 2003 we voluntarily returned two automobiles that were financed through Credit Union of Texas. The auctioned the vehicles and sent me a bill for $9,999. The difference between what was owed and what they collected. Since we were in bankruptcy, they sued us and were awarded a judgement against us in 2004 for a total of $17,500.
We were contacted by the offices of Blalack & Williams with settlement offers but were unable to take advantage of them. We were barely making enough just to keep our home and couldn't take on additional debt.
When they seized our bank account on 7/14 we were given no notice. My research tells me that bank accounts can't be seized or garneshed for collection of a private debt. I would appreciate if someone could tell me otherwise.
