Today I received a notice that Homecomings intends to sell our home at auction in 30 days if we do not pay them. Of course, I have not been able to talk to anyone there about this. Yes, we are slightly behind on our mortgage payments by 2 months due to a temporary layoff. I just sent them a payment today online for 1 month - so we are now only behind by one month.
The notice they gave us says that we are behind 4 months! NOT TRUE. They, of course, have added an extra $2,000 for fees that we are now supposed to pay. We have been trying unsuccessfully to talk to someone about the whole thing. They never respond or are rude. We cannot even access our account info online anymore. We have been trying to make some type of payment arrangement, etc... When we can talk to someone, they say they will mail us info - they never do. Of course, this lack of contact only goes one way. It certainly doesn't stop the harrassing phone calls 2-3 times per day.
We have just signed with renters to move into our house (and take over payments) now what are we supposed to do if we cannot get this resolved and they take our home? What happens to the renters? Homecomings apparently is going to screw not one but 2 families out of a home.
Our loan was originally with another company and was sold without our knowledge. The other peoples' comments I have read on this website sound very similar - for approx 3 months they would not send a bill, address, account number, anything at all... We had to send our payments to the original company hoping that they would transfer to Homecomings, luckily, with lots of hassles though, they did receive them.
This is a terrible company. Never before in all my credit history have I ever dealt with such a bad company. I simply am not sure where to turn anymore. Any suggestions?
