Frist Convenience Bank
Ripoff closed acct they close it 3 days later and rack up on overdraft charges

This bank has some weird banking practices, I have bad credit and it not easy to get acct. At another bank, but 1st Convenience it is very easy to get an acct. I see why I read the stories of how they prey on bad credit customers, they charge all these fees, knowing it would hard to go somewhere else to open an acct.

I don't know how many times Ihad to fight to get overdraft charges refunded because of they ways they post and pend charges. For example, I closed my acct. On 6/30/06 and only had a $1.00 transaction, well they let me close my acct. And give me the balance minus the $1.00. I said great because i was moving to a new state that day and have to drive back when it posted. I am thinking that since I closed my acct. It was close that day, but HELLO-your screwed it was not.

Since it was Friday after 2pm, they waited until monday to do it. Was I informed of this when I was closing my acct., NO! No! I thinking when I close acct. It is CLOSED! Nothing can come through! But they did not close it and slapped me with a mastercard debit card monthly fee ($1.50-I have never had a bank charge me to use my debit card) on the same day!

Which caused my acct. To stay open, then they posted my withdrawal of my balance-when I was closing my acct. And made it neg. Because they posted after the debit card fee ($1.50) and then another automatic charge posted (I failed to remember this auto charge, but I am thinking if acct. Closed nothing can't come through and company would just email me and I would pay them another way which was no problem), so they posted an overdraft charge of $33.00. This bank is crazy, I called to complain, they did refund my debitcard fee and the nsf fee of $33.00 for the neg. Balance after they posted my withdrawal. But said they couldn't refund the overdraft for the auto charge that came through, because if they closed the acct. They would be responible for it... NO! Inform the company the acct. Is closed like any other bank and look for your money elsewhere.

I would be informed by the company and pay for it another way. Simple! If I was still living in Texas, I might have been able to go to the branch and get a refund on the 2nd nsf charge, but I am not living there anymore and I'm stuck sending a money order for the balance to close acct.

After all this, now it more because they are charging me with a monthly service fee of $9.45 and my acct. Is supposed to be closed. They could not stop it, becasue it is an auto charge, but it is THEIR CHARGE! Not an outside company. And by the way they tell you that your covered with a $10,000 life insurance policy, that you never receive any info on and this is supposed to be covered in this service fee... HELLO! No! I thought I had been covered all this I had the acct., but found out at the end when I call to complain that I was never covered... Hello. Taking change donations at your local liquior store for burial expenses.

do get an acct. If you are rich and don't mind paying crazy fees to increase a banks net profit. You know I feel really screwed and there is no way to stop this, except send the money order for the amount and get this acct. Closed for good! If there are suggestions, please respond thanks.
