Ripoff Single Mom Caretaker of own Mother got had

I'm a Single Mom of two and the Caregiving to my ailing Mother. Seeking help for Home Repairs.

I received a post card in the mail. Stating: You have been Identified as a possible qualifier for a Government Grant...

I called around 6/30/06 set up a payment to be taken out of my bank account on 7/21/06 for $299.97. After thinking about it I got a bad feeling. I had made a big mistake.

I called them back on 7/5/06 talked to Anthony. Explained that I had changed my mind and wanted to cancel my request. He said I'd have to call back when it's been a week. There's no record of my account being set up yet.

Ok, Big Red Flag. I called my Bank to set up a Stop Payment on the Draft scheduled for 7/21/06. Was told I could Not place a Stop Payment on a Electronic Draft.

Have been calling and calling ever since and GUESS WHAT - nothing but a busy signal on all 3 phone numbers I have:

Ok, now what do I do. Can't stop the payment, can't reach them. I don't have the money to throw away.
