I signed a lease for a credit card processing machine, which, I was told was worth $4,200. The rep told me that my current machine was too old to work, which was not true. Upon an ivestigation I found the machine's retail price was $469.00. The lease was to be 60 mo. At $49.99, they debit $60.77 a month with no explination why the different amounts. I had attempted to contact them but all I get is voice mail hell, and no call back. The contract states the only way out is through the BBB. I have filed a complaint with them and am awaiting action.
I have spoke to a lawyer who said they have violated the law via fraud through inducement. Legal costs would probably exceed the value of the lease. I am a retired peace officer and I have considered contacting the local DA's office, but I don't thing they would be interested knowing them.
