I also a small business owner was scammed by Robert Derthick. He came into my shop offering better rates for credit card transactions then my current company, next day deposits, and lower fees.
What I got was deposits somtimes up to one week from the actual transaction date and large fees each month. I also noticed a withdrawal from my account from Lease Finance Group. Derthick failed to tell me that his fees did not include the lease of equipment, that another party would be handling said lease, the price of the fee for the lease per month, or that the lease for 48 months was unbreakable.
Using the first months withdrawal the amount of the lease would be around $3000, I very much doubt that the processing machine cost that much. I switched back to my former processor, not knowing the lease was unbreakable. I called Lease Finance Group to send the machine back to them and that is when I found out I was locked in a unbreakable lease.
I promptly called my bank to stop withdrawals from Lease Finance Group, who said they would be taking me to collections. I am not happy at all with how he represents himself.
