This company is operating illegally. They have employees that do not answer questions when asked, saying that they do not 'need' to tell you who THEY are, and keep demanding to know what phone number you are calling in regards to.
In addition to this, when you ask for a supervisor, you will be told 'there are none'. I find this quite hard to believe in any company of any size over 10 people, and even then, small stores always have someone that is in charge.in any event, you will then be told that they can take care of any situation that a supervisor can take care of. Really? Then that would make them a supervisor then?
My parents have been harassed for over a year by this company, and in reading other recounts of this business's operating practices, they also get the same taped spiel on their phone, with a womans name to contact and a 'reference number'. And the phone calls come in two and sometimes three times a day, with my parents now being told by me to just screen their calls. Let the machine pick it up and then I have a date/time stamp on it for my complaint process to the FTC and the BBB, as well as they being on the DNCall list.
In my dealings with them on behalf of my infirmed parents who owe NO one any money, have one credit card that never has a balance carried on it, and they have had that particular card for over 28 years, safe to say that they are not calling regarding it, yet maintain my parent/s owe money and they need to pay up.
My parents bills are all paid off when they come.in regards to health bills, they are double covered, so only have copays for meds and office calls when necessary. And then after these calls continued for the first 6 months, my brother decided to pull their free yearly allowed credit bureaus. Nothing is on there as well as either being owed delinquent or outstanding.
We will now take this complaint process further by filing with our states AG, as well as contacting our states FBI scam department, committing financial crimes against the elderly is a felony in this state.
To the 'alledged' employee who had a response. Pay attention:
According to the federal laws, when someone who disputes a bill asks for proof of it, yes you MUST prove it, when you cannot do so, the matter by law must be dropped. Your comments that the person contacted must DISPROVE are false, the federal law says otherwise, and to disregard it is a federal offense.
Also, the SOL's differ from state to state, and in some states, when the SOL (statute of limitations) is up, no one can collect on that debt.in other states, when the SOL is up, they can no longer start a lawsuit against you.
The only exception is government entities owed ie, school loans, taxes and child support.
MR Employee, learn the law before you become party to a law suit. Most debt collection practices are shabbily run, and violate most peoples rights. You just stated why that happens, and you admitted that it is your companys policy in fact to do just that.
Everyone else that may read this, do yourselves all a favor, and look up your states individual laws regarding debt collection, and learn it. More than likely this particular company has violated your laws as well, because they most definitely are in Wisconsin.
