Today I got a call from Superior Asset Management stating that I owe 64.00 to T-Mobile from an account I closed out (and paid in full) in 2003.
I asked why I had not been contacted previous to this. They lied. I asked for information specific to my account. They could not provide it. I told them I wouldn't pay without a bill or sufficient evidence that I indeed owed this money. They threatened to call me every day and to make a record on my credit report if I didn't either produce an old bank statement (with my personal information, nice try scammers) or pay.
That's extortion!
I looked online and found countless other complaints concerning this exact scam. One even cited the EXACT amount I was told I owed. I called T-Mobile who, of course, could provide no additional information.
I'm taking tomorrow to figure out where to report these people. There are just SO MANY cases of fraud to wade through.
