On Dec 24, using a seasonal cupon of Walgreens Pharmacy, I paid cash for a prepaid reloadable Green Dot MasterCard. It was necessary to put a minimum of $20 cash on the card even before it was received. The sale price of the card itself was $5. The sale waived the activation fee of $19.95.
Total paid at Walgreens Pharmacy: $25.00 cash
The phone call was made before the New Year 2006 to activate the card. The card never arrived in the mail.
On Feb 6 call was made and 'Fred' told me it was never activated, and since more than 30 days had passed, no refund would be issued. I protested. He said he would submit my report.
A check arrived for $5 at the end of February.
On March 2, call was made and 'Alvin' said that they would not be refunding my $20 cash, they intented to keep it to cover an activation fee.
A letter was sent to the PO Box address located on their website explaining what happened, and a copy of my receipt was mailed to them showing the discounted 19.95, and the sale price of the card.
Attached to the letter, I sent back the $5 check because it had already expired and was not cashable, and it was the wrong amount - - they need to send me $25.
AS of June 3 no card ever arrived, or was a card ever activated. No response has come from them and no explaination is given over the phone as to when they will refund my money.
