Ocwen Federal Bank
Held my house Payment and foreclosed my home of 37 years Ripoff Florida

I have owned my home for 37 years and worked very hard to pay it off before retirement. I had the house payed off and was making ready for retirement, all was fine! However the house taxes were getting higher and higher so I had to take a morgage with New Century Morgage for $20.000 on the house for back taxes.

New Century Morgage sold the loan to Ocwen Federal Bank. I am driving a school bus part time and had no income during the summer. So in September I had managed to fall one month behind in payments to Ocwen. "I called them a number of times explaining the reason for the late payment." September came and the school year started. The Teamsters Union called for a strike, and I was out of work another month, walking the strike line. Again I called Ocwen and told them my problem. The lady said that they were going send me a letter of demand. That sounded bad to me so the Drivers at the Bus Company took up a collection so I could send them a payment. I sent the payment. Now I am thinking all is fine. About three weeks later a man comes to the door and puts a foreclosure notice on the house and takes a picture of it. I call Ocwen and asked what is happening saying I had sent a check. The Lady said that she had held the check. "seems she could have told me she was holding the check" She said she did not have to accept it.

From here my life changed, any hope of retirement was gone if I wanted to keep my home. First we did a Forebarance but I was unable to make the high payments, so the house went back into foreclosure. That cost me close to $1000 my only hope now was Bankrupsy. However the house was worth to much and I would lose it if we did that. So I filed a Bankrupsy that allowed me to keep the house but I had to pay Ocwen. This left me with no money to live. Next I refinanced the house a second time. My payments that were $189 a month now $417. And taxes around $122 a month. My Social Security is about $680 a month. So there is no hope of ever stopping working because of Ocwen not telling me they were holding that check. My health is failing and I have no idea how long I will be able to keep driving a Bus.

I really, really am fighting to keep my house. And really need someone to help me. Its just is not fair for them to hold a check that was sent to them and not tell me. My loan with them was for 17.000 and the house was valued at $120.000
