NCO contacted me, claiming to represent BofA on a debt arising from an overdraft, threatening to put negative information on my credit report if I did not pay immediately by telephone. I contacted BofA to confirm that no such debt existed, as no overdraft had occurred, and I had overdraft protection anyway.
I called NCO back to request a mailing address, and they refused to provide one, claiming that payment could only be taken by phone because the nonexistent debt, which no one had ever attempted to collect before, was "delinquent."
