I received a collection letter from NCO Financial Systems in December, regarding a debt I supposedly owe to Chase Providian. This debt was either discharged in a 1992 bankruptcy or paid in full and the account closed at my request. Nothing has ever appeared on any credit report about this debt and I was never contacted about it by any one before. I have no record of it and have written to NCO to request validation.
It appears from what I have found from internet searches that this NCO Financial is getting away with trying to collect ancient debts and debts that have actually been paid. I just want to go on record here regarding my experience with them and join the people who have been contacted by NCO in there fraudulent attempt to scare people into paying money they don't owe. There seeming power is outrageous. I hate to think my excellent credit score is at the mercy of a company engaging in what appears to be criminal activity.
