I rec'd a call at home a month ago, which my dh answered, from someone named Dana, who stated that she was trying to collect on a debt from 1997. Would not tell my husband any more than that, but he noted the phone number and name of the company and called me at work to tell me.
I did an internet search and found this website. Today, my husband answered another call from them. Same person, who stated she was trying to collect a debt of some 1000.00, but with interest, was over 2000.00 from a debt which was charged off in a bankruptcy proceeding in 1997. She also stated that when I applied for credit with this company, I used the last name Burleson, which I have never had, nor do I have now. She also stated they had been mailing us letters in an attempt to collect on this debt.
I have printed off some of the tactics for combatting this company found on this website, as well as a Cease and Desist Letter from www.creditmania.com that I will mail if necessary. I have also blocked their number from calling me.
