FIRST CAPITAL CONSUMERS GROUP MISREPRESENTATION OF CLAIMS & FLAT-OUT RIPOFF ripoff business con artist consumer fraud Canada

Just like many other people, I received a phone call from First Capital Bank on February 28 offering me the opportunity to receive a credit card from them. They offered two options, a "Silver" package for $199.00 or "Gold" package for $219.00 and being optimistic I opted for the Gold package. They then asked for my banking info over the telephone, and I informed them that I do not give my personal info over the telephone for security reasons. The rep then tried to pressure me by saying that I could not receive this offer without giving them my information, and I informed him that I would have to pass if that was the basis for this offer. The rep put me on hold and supposedly had a confab with his supervisor and received "special permission" for me to fax my information to them.

So I faxed a letter stating that they could deduct the required $219.00 from my checking account. I received a call back from same rep after fax was sent confirming receipt of my information. I was told that my account would be debited on March 10 and my MasterCard and Visa should arrive within 3 to 4 weeks after that. I never received these credit cards as promised, so I began to call their customer service center with the "customer care pin number" provided to me.

After over one month of leaving messages with no response, I faxed a letter to the same fax number that I had sent my banking information to and stated that they were defrauding me and if I did not receive a response within 10 days of this fax, I would hand the matter over to my attorneys for further action.

Miraculously, I received a voice mail within 15 minutes of my sending this notice. Once again, when I tried to call the number left on my voice mail, all I got was the same message asking me to leave my name and number with "customer care pin number" as I had many times before.

The next morning, I received a telephone call from a Customer Care Associate stating that she could not apologize enough for the misunderstanding between myself and their company and would resend the information to me as soon as possible. She stated that it would be another 3 to 4 weeks before I received the replacement package. I expressed my displeasure with this entire procedure and asked if they had another customer service number that an actual human would answer on the other end. She very kindly obliged and gave me this number - 416-488-4868.

I am still waiting for my replacement information to be mailed to me. If I do not receive it within 3 to 4 weeks as promised, I will definately let my attorney handle this!
