About to be a rip-off subject

I received a letter in the mail about being pre-approved for $10,000 Platinum status. I had never heard of the agency, so I decided to look it up on the internet. To my surprise, this company was no where to be found and the first thing I saw were the bad comments about this company from other people in the US. I hope that these people are stopped. I would like to find out how they found me to be a candidate for this or how they received my information to send me this garbage.
