Greentree Servicing LLC, purchased certain loans from Greenpoint Credit about two years ago. My loan was one of these. After five years of a perfect payment history, these jokers almost immediately started jerking us around. First they lost payments, then they had to charge us late fees even though the payments were cashed the day after the due date, the final straw was when we had to file an insurance claim.
For some reason the insurance agencies in my area (Rural Ohio) did not offer mobile home insurance, so we purchased insurance through Greenpoint and when they sold our loan, Green tree.in August we had a pipe break and slowly leak water all through out our mobile home ruining the bathroom and adjoining bedroom, while we were on a camping trip. On August 8th I called and filed the insurance claim, with my morgage company as they are one and the same. Directions soon arrived, which we followed to the letter, I sent pictures, they sent an adjuster (who estimated 4000.00 in damages) and about two weeks later 1/2 of the money required to fix this problem arrived. (August the 23rd, 15 days in a smelly moldy trailer in August heat with no A/c) We found a contractor who would start the work for us and about a week later we sent in more pictures, at this time 1/2 of the work was done. (August 31st, no mold but still unusable) We received no further funds and had to begin paying all further fees out of pocket totalling $2000.00.By Sptember 29th, my son's 6th birthday, we were totally broke but the work was completed)
We were unable to make our morgage payment in August but paid it in September. We missed September's payment, called and sent more pictures on September 28th, begged them for the money or just to release it to the other department. They stated they would sent the check and we would have it in two weeks. On October 17th I called again, they stated pictures of the completed work were not sufficiant, they asked that more pictures be taken at diffrent angles, I sent more pictures, still no money. I talked to the account representative for collections who began calling and harrassing us daily, I talked to the insurance rep, remember they work for the same place, he stated he couldn't help me. October 24th, I explained the problem I asked them to talk to each other and to, rather than waiting "two weeks to send us the money", as I have heard this about 3 times now, send it to the collections department. After they discovered we had put the home up for sale, and moved out, they came and changed the locks on the house. I received a letter on October 27th, dated the 24th, They sent us a certified letter stating pay 663.00 by November 24th or they would reposses this home. I asked them to allow us to show the home to a potential buyer, offered to meet someone from thier company to escort us, they refused adn stated that if thier was an intrested buyer they could purchase it after it was repossed for pennies on the dollar, and we would be charged the rest. We called friends and relatives, we western unioned them the 663.00 on November 22nd, we called and asked for the locks to be removed, we had a buyer for the home, he was willing to close quickly. They refused to remove the locks, demanded more money for December's payment and they reposessed the home on November 24th as they had stated they would do. Ironically we received the insurance payment (the 2000.00 we had to pay out of pocket) and a letter stating our insurance had been cancelled due to reposeesion of the home, the Monday after Thanksgiving. I can prove everything I have written here, I kept excellent records. These people have ruined our credit and our lives. If you can help us please do!
