Our home loan was bough by Aurora from National City Bank. We never had any problems from National City. The first letter we recieved from Aurora stated that we were $2400.00 behind and that they were going to foreclose if we didn't pay up. We sent them money orders for $1700.00, which they promptly sent back without crediting our account. Their reasoning was that we didn't send the entire amount so they wouldn't accept anything. So we sent them the entire amount, $2420.00, and thought everything was taken care of.
About two weeks later we recieved two money orders back from Aurora with a letter stating that $1000.00 was not enough to cover the due amount. We immediately called them and they stated they ony recieved $2300.00, and they had sent the money orders back in the order they had recieved them. Well unfortunately we had the money orders stapled together and they were all sent together.
About a week later another money order came in the mail, and then we waited and waited and waited for the rest of the money orders which we never recieved. They stole $1220.00. We called Western Union and they indeed cashed the money orders. I have to get copies of the money orders and send them to Aurora before they will even investigate.
So anyway by this time we were behind almost $4000.00. After borrowing money from friends I sent the entire amount with copies of the current money orders, witness statements of what was in the envelope, and sent it overnight delivery with signed reciept. Finally they recieved and accepted our payment on March 15. Now on March 23 we recieved a letter from Aurora stating we owed them just over $1500.00. Our payment is $750.00, so that means they are saying we are a month behind. Another peculiar thing is the money they credited on March 15 shows them crediting it back in November. I guess it's time to get a lawyer and sue, I'm glad we kept good records. So anyway BEWARE!!! Aurora Loan Services are fraudulent and should be banned.
