I had been paying my bill based upon the amount indicated on an automated telephone system. I was told by a customer service rep that the correct bill to pay is in the mailed statement. I attempted to have overlimit fees forgiven based on inaccurate information on the telephone system. I was denied.
I asked the rep to alter a payment made on 03-15-02 from $75 to an amount that would put me under my limit and to account for any and all fees and charges in the billing cycle. The rep gave me the amount of $185. I paid that amount and was given a confirmation number.
I later received a bill indicating over the limit fees and an annual fee. My payment was listed as $75 not $185. I attempted to clarify the matter. "Claire" hung up on me. Supervisor "Josh" told me it was a valid fee. I complained and he said "Do what you need to do" when I told him I would file a complaint with the State of Florida.
