Wow, where does one begin? In 2001 we refinanced our home with Ameriquest Mortgage Company. We went online to lending tree dot com and submitted our information. This was supposed to have several lenders compete for our business. Well we received several calls and one day I received a call from Ameriquest. I jotted down the information and kindly thanked them for their interest in servicing our loan.
A few days later I received a second call from the same Ameriquest office, this time it was a male who said " I live in the same township as you, in fact, I am only about 3 miles from you". He went on to say that he would give us personal attnetion and he would assure us the best rate. He asked what kind of quotes I had received so far. I told him and he said "Not a problem, we can definately help. This guy, Brian Bionda was not a good person and certainly not truthful!!! I am ashamed to say he lives in the same township as me.
He came to our home the same day and we filled out the loan application. My wife and I filled out the application with a ball point pen. After this loan was closed it took over a year to get a copy of the original loan application. Why you ask? Well TILA (Truth and Lending) statutes are only good for one year. So knowing that, they did not get my application to me until over a year had passed. No problem though... I kept records of the correspondences...
Long story short... Ameriquest switched our interest rate at closing, they inflated the value of our home. The indicated on the loan application that my wife owned a child care business, they inflated my income, they forged our signatures on several closing documents, the loan rep. Threatened to punch me in the face at closing, he would not come into our home for the closing, etc.

In closing, I discourage anyone from doing business with this company (AMERIQUEST MORTGAGE COMPANY) YOU WILL GET BURNED!!!
