In June my husband and I learned that Flagstar had not paid our insurance premium leading to a laps in our homeowners insurance. The reason that we found out about this was due to a theft that occurred in our home. We notified Flagstar and they stated that it was in no way their fault, however, they did not pay this and allowed our account to be based on an expired insurance policy for a year. Once we tried to get this fixed and picked a different insurance company, Flagstar proceeded to send a payment on the cancelled policy. It has been almost five months and Flagstar will not offer me a solution to this issue, however, they say it has been escalated to the highest level and is being investigated. I can not wait to discontinue all association with this company. I urge anyone with a mortgage through Flagstar to check your escrow account, if you receive a bill from your insurance company and Flagstar tells you to disregard it, it will be paid, do not trust them! Please verify this for yourself!
