Chase bank collections called my home 6 times and on sunday morning at 8 am my wife answered, and they told her they would call back, then they did once again one hour later and said the same thing. Then at 11 am they called again and told her that i was 190 days late on a credit card payment and told her they would call me when i returned home from work at 2 pm. I have 3 cards with them, one which i pay off every month, and the other 2 with zero percent financing from different stores. First off even if i did owe them money which was late they have no business telling my wife, secondly, they had the wrong person! My wife, who was very upset about the call, called me at work (yes some of us work sundays) to inform me of the call, which i promptly called the number on my card to check my accounts and was told they were all paid up with no problems, so why the collection call? They had no answer so i called the 480-902-7008 (the number on my caller id) number to investigate. They said that i had to wait for the collector to call me back to find out what this was all about, my name and social did not match anything in thier records, but that the collector had more information than they could look up? Well 2pm came and went and no call, i pulled up my credit report and nothing outstanding came up, all said paid, never late. So at 4 pm i called back, and ask them about why they were calling me, which i got a response of "I am sorry, we made a mistake" I was very irrate at this, first my wife thinks i am not paying the bills, and secondly they did not call me back to correct thier error, i had to call them! I told them after getting no response that satisfied me and informed them that they violated the fair credit act by informng my wife they thought i owed them money, and ask for a fair resolution to this problem, which they responded that they would send me a appology for the situation. I said fine. On monday i contacted my lawyer and explained the above to him, he said to get the phone records, and fax him the appology, well got phone records but waiting on appology, he says we have a good chance at a settlement we will see.
