AmSouth has lost my Business forever with their OverDraft fee scam. Here is the emails that I exchanges with customer service.
You're right; these OD charges were not the result of a bank error, they are the result of a tactful business scam. After looking over my bank statements, including previous OD charges, I realized that AmSouth deliberately withdraws the highest dollar transactions first each day. This insures that AmSouth will profit the greatest amount of money from overdrafts. I am moving my business elsewhere and discontinuing the 20 year relationship with AmSouth. I feel like AmSouth has been maliciously ripping off its customers. Thanks for nothing!

Message: Ms. Baker,
Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, we are unable to waive fees that are not due to a bank error. If you have any other questions, please email us, call us at 1-800-AMSOUTH (1-800-267-6884), or stop by any branch. Thank you for banking with AmSouth.

Message: I've been charged over $300 in the past week because of overdrafts. I know it's my fault, but our power was down for several weeks (Hurricane Katrina) and as soon as we got power, I submitted a couple of electronic bills. That's when everthing went down hill. (Charged $256 the day before my check went into the bank). This is a bad time for us to lose this much money and I was wondering if AmSouth could give me a break just this once. (We've been loyal customers for so long).
Checking Account is #. If anything could be done, we would greatly apprehiate it.
Thanks, Chris
