I got a call from some sales representative with a SERIOUS Indian accent, says he can offer both visa mastercard that comes in a package with free cell phone, tickets, and all this other crap. Then asks for my account info; and like an idiot - I give it to him. THEN he mentions about the 229.95 charge and asked if I authorized to this, which I said no. Then he continued a few more offers until I proceeded with the transaction. So alright, I have a credit card coming.
Another day I get another call from another guy with a serious Indian accent, then he tries to ask for the same info, but this time I didn't give him my account info and claimed that I didn't have it with me. Then the 3rd time I get a call from the first guy, but I just straight out said to cancel, and that I didn't want the credit card package.
On my next statement I notice a charge on my credit card that wasn't supposed to be there; I called my bank and notified them of the charge, which they told me to see if I can get it figured if I call the "company" first. I did, and Michael Thompson said that they'd refund it the same day, and to call him back if it doesn't go through. Well, let's just say that the process was repeated over and over again. After some point I was tired and reported it to my bank - but at the time I didn't know it was a fraudulent company Needless to say, I wasn't very successful in getting my money back, since my bank said something along the lines of not being able to refund Phone POS transactions.
I thought I was alone from there, and tried again and again with Golden One. Spoke again and again with Michael Thompson (to no avail) that he'd even know my problem just by the mention of my name. Also, I have pretty good voice recognition, so there were even a few times that I suspected he claimed (as someone else) that he wasn't available or in the office. When he admitted that he was Michael Thompson, he even got so unprofessional as to telling me to call him back (in 20 mins, in an hour, etc.) Then one day someone else tells me that I'm supposed to speak to Frank Hunger for refunds.
So next time I speak to Frank Hunger, and I swear it's the same guy as Michael Thompson. He tells me that Golden One has moved, and that it's a shipping company, basically trying to claim that they're not responsible. I even got more suspicious when he asks "Okaaaay???" in that annoying ass voice of his that Michael Thompson speaks in (when he asks the same question). So I'm near tears here and I tell him firmly that "NO, it's NOT OK!" He says to give him till Friday and he'll see if he can track them down. I call next Wednesday (after the Friday) and ask if he's tracked them down... Except this time he's claimed that it's Golden One.
At this point it's right-in-your-face obvious that it was fraud. I try a few more times (to no avail of course) with them because I wasn't sure what to do. So thank God I found this site; now I know how many other people it has happened to. So I called Michael Thompson/Frank Hunger back and asked him a few questions about where located, and gave that a-hole another name when he asked who I was.
Now I'll go and keep bothering my bank.
