I've been banking with BoA since 2003 and didn't have any problems until last month. I hit a finanial bump and was doing my best to time my payments with my paychecks.
Everything was going fine until I sent a check for my health insurance. I mailed it on a Thursday thinking it would be cashed until my paycheck fell in on Tuesday (the last payments had taken about 5 days to clear). Of course it hit on Monday.
I know it was my fault, but of course BoA had to post it highest to lowest which made me receive 5 overdraft fees instead of 1 (if they would have posted them by the date).
I contacted them and went through about 5 people and all I could get was 1 refunded to me. That's nice and all, but I still wound up with $120 in fees. I blame myself for that one, but BoA could've done better.
Then, just this week (of course with the health insurance check again) they processed a check that was dated for the next day which made me get 5 more fees. I called them again and all they could tell me that it was my fault and that I should try calling my insurance company about it.
Alot of help that was. And for all of the people that will make comments on this, I never received an explanation of policies for my account when I signed up. So I never knew that's how they posted charges and that they don't pay attention to the date on the check.
I'm finally fed up with BoA. They've gotten too big to provide "customer service" to their consumers. They need to go over their policies and start thinking about the people that put their trust in them.
