Freecreditreport.com ripoff Internet

On Friday, July 29, I received an email reporting a credit change to my account. This was the first I had received after having subscribed for a month. I logged on to my account but was unable to find the reported change to my credit status.

I called the toll free customer service number. The agent asked for my social security or account receipt number. He spoke in broken English. He identified himself by name but his name was not recognizable in any way.

I went back to my message and following the instructions and went to the website provided in the email: freeceditprofile.com I received the following message:

There has been an interruption during the processing of your request and you may need assistance to resume the process. Contact the Customer Service Team for assistance. Cancellation web address was provided by a recorded message when dialing the customer service number: 800-493-2329

However, upon entering the cancellation form online, you receive a message that it cannot be completed & you must call 888-749-0731.

I dialed the 888-749-0731 number and the agent, a female, who spoke much clearer English assisted me with the cancellation. She stated that the Credit Alert would be cancelled. I then asked her about the Subscription for the Three in One Report. She stated that it had expired on 23 July. However, it was not suppose to expire until 9 August so I requested that everything be cancelled. She then provided me with a cancellation number. I requested that an e-mail be sent to me, for my records, confirming that the subscription was canceled as of that date. She informed me that they did not send e-mails but the number given confirmed the cancellation.

Not only are you directed to a website that does not work, but then the information provided is not accurate. Are they attempting to justify the need for these workers by directing you to additional numbers to satisfy a quota?
