My husband and I purchased some furniture from Morris furnature in 2003 and had no problems with the account or the financing at that point in time. Since then, my husband and I have spit and he was not an authorized user on my account at Morris Furniture or at GE Capital Consumer Credit Card Company.
However in I recieved a bill from GE Capital stating that I owed them for a washer and dryer that was purchased. I put a dispute on the account with them as well as Morris Furniture. I was under the impression that my account was settled until I recieved a letter from an attourney who is supposably filing with the courts on the 18th of August.
I never signed for the purchase, authorized it, nor do I have the washer and dryer that they are charging me for. I have contacted both the credit card company and Morris Furniture and no one seems to be able to help me. I have been referred back and forth between the two companies and I am fed up.
This matter could have been resolved a long time ago if someone would have taken the time to investigate and resolve this issue internally. Unfortunately, I will have to now take legal matters into my own hands. I am trying to go though with my divorce and do not have the time or money to fight this and I feel helpless. It is a shame that a credit card company who is supposed to help you protect your credit, doesn't seem to care about mine.
