I applied for a $23,000 loan with Hilton Financial Corp. Over the phone from a phone number I found in the classified section of my local newspaper. I spoke with Catherine Pryce who was my "loan representative" and gave her my basic loan information. I received a message from Hilton Financial approx. 2 weeks after my initial contact saying that I had been approved for my loan. I then contacted Catherine Pryce and she explained to me that I could secure the loan with 2 options: 1. I needed a co-signer with at least a $40,000 per year income or 2. I could secure the loan with "lenders insurance" with a premium of $500.00. I decided to pay the "lenders insurance" premium. I then sent this payment by way of Western Union on July 18th to Toronto, Canada c/o Kelly Peterson.
I contacted Catherine Pryce and faxed her my personal information (D.L., SS card, etc.) along with a voided check so this money could be transferred to my account.
Loan rep. Stated that money would be in my account on Wed. July 20th - of course this did not happen!
I called back again on Thursday, July 21st, and they stated that the money would be in my account on Friday, July 22nd.
I called back again on Friday July 22nd, they stated that it would be in my account by end of business this same day.in the meantime, I began to search the internet for scams relating to these companies, and I then found numerous complaints of loan scams against these companies.
I hope that this information will be of some help to someone else that tries to use these companies.
