Several years ago our mortgage was sold to Ocwen. Our loan was less than 1/2 of the value of our home. To make a long story shorter, Ocwen illegally filed foreclosure proceedings against us and was able to, without notification to us, send our home to public sale and purchase it for $1.00. The bottom line seemed to be the fact that our 11 acres in a very fast growing area would be a huge asset for them - especially if sold to a developer or developed themselves.
After thousands of dollars in legal fees our state supreme court ruled that due to the illegal filing and the fact that they profitted double the amount due to them, the home had to be "sold" back to us in other words, we ended up paying off the mortgage PLUS ALL OF OCWEN'S MAXIMUM VALUED "EXPENSES" but we did get our home back.
Unbelievably, the mortgage held on our commercial property by a company that is under legal scrutiny due to their bad business practices has SOLD OUR MORTGAGE TO OCWEN. We have not gotten anything but one letter regarding this - not a single statement of any kind, not a single invoice of any kind. We have received phone calls that we have returned only to be blocked from speaking to the person who called us by another employee (who speaks extremely broken English).
I had a professional advisor of ours call for us only to be blocked in the same way. They'll be putting me in foreclosure again, I bet, because I can't and won't pay when I have no clue as to an account number, where to pay, who to pay no the amount to pay.
These guys are truly a bad business.
