Vanderbilt Mortgage & Finance
Ipoff

I too got stuck with Vanderbilt after Chase Manhattan sold our loan. I agree with all, their employees have no personalities!

You call and somehow you get to talk to the same person every time you call, and no-one know what they are looking at or how to let you know what your balance is or how much you paid on interest or principal.

They went to the beginning of our loan with Chase and started charging me the full amount again when Chase had me down to $316. A month. I sent them a check in Jan. For $350 because that is what Chase wanted me to pay in January. I think that because it wasn't the full $433.32 they pitched it. They said that they never got it but come on, I sent it January 4th and it has never shown up or been cashed.

Then they said that it would cost me $12 if I wanted a statement each month, I have never heard of a Mortgage company that didn't send statements of what money went where especially when they were working with $48,000. I was calling my payment into Chase with no cost and I was told by Vanderbilt employees that there was a $10 fee for calling a payment in. Now if Chase in Kentucky didn't charge a fee from calling it in from Ohio why would Tennessee? I wanted to move my date from the 26th to the 1st and employees from Vanderbilt told me that I would have to pay $111.37 to move it, and that would be the payment for February. Of course I sent $350 to be sure. So far they have taken the first 3 months of payments and put all of it on INTEREST! That was bull.

I started the paperwork for automatic withdraw, for Vanderbilt to not loose any of my other payments, for March. They were suppost to take it out on the 1st, well I looked at my bank on the internet on the 4th and they never took any money out. I called them and they told me "THE PAST IS THE PAST, WE DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE PAST". I couldn't believe it. This is my credit rating they are messing with, they way all the credit cards are now adays if you have a late payment your interest will go to a higher rate of interest, I told them that and they said that they were not going to charge me for their screw-up, yeah right! The first 3 months the full amount went to interest only!

I have written to the "STATE OF TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS" to complain about this company, they inturn sent it to Ohio Department of Financial Instutions. Don't know what is going on, never heard from them again so I wrote to VICE-PRESIDENT on his web site because I couldn't get into the Governments financial institutions email or web page.

All of you send in complaints to your STATE OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTTIONS and maybe we could get this company out of business! If you can't get anything done there write the Vice-president or President. This company cannot get away with these kinds of charges and payments they have.

Also I remind you to call the BBB in Tennessee and report them.
