Today is June 9. About 30 minutes ago, I received a phone call from a man stating that he was with Integra Financial Card Services. I asked his name and he stated that it was "Brad White".
"Brad" stated that I had been approved for a credit card with their company with a $00 limit. He explained that I could use it any ATM, I could take out a cash advance of $500.00, blah, blah, blah.
Well, me having a "STUPID" moment, gave him all of my very personal information. I gave him my checking account routing number, my account number, my address, my driver's license number, and even my freaking social security number!
Anyway, he goes on to get all of this information from me. I ask him his name telephone number, etc. He gives me a reference number to use when I get my card to activate it.
Well, after we got off of the phone, I decided to call him back, just to make sure. I guess I was having a "SMART" moment. Anyway, I get this answering service. Immediately, I was worried because normally when you get an answering service they at least state the name of the company, Right?
No, it just said that I had reached "CUSTOMER SERVICE" and all operators were busy. I found that very strange. I immediately got on the internet and tried to look them up. Well, no doubt you already know what I found. I found this web site. I was ticked, but didn't waste any time calling my bank.
I got lucky. It just so happened that I have direct deposit and since my money would not be in the bank until later, I was negative and there was already a hold on my account. God was watching out for me.
Anyway, I informed my representative of all that had transpired and she told me don't worry. It won't go thru. Bad part is I had to close my account. I transfered money from another account to make my checking account a positive balance and requested that it be closed immediately. So, IN YOUR FACE INTEGRA!!! IN YOUR FACE "BRAD WHITE"!!!
Thank God!!! $249.00 is alot of money to throw away. Thank God for your service or else I would have been ripped off!!! I think that it is ashame that people actually get away with this!
I don't personally know too many people who can just afford to throw that much money away. If you are reading this, it probably happened to you too. I hope it all works out for you. I know I will definitely NEVER let it happen again. I feel like my purse was stolen, with all of my valuables inside.
