Midland would not correct my Annual Account Statement to reflect the correct property tax withholding for 2004. They reported paying $1 dollar more. Property tax increased $1.00 from 2003 to 2004. I have proof of that and sent supporting documents.
The statement also indicated a shortage in escrow due to a $48 late fees. My check to cover the late was placed into a Hold Account by Midland and added into my mortgage - increasing my payment by $10.40 sum cents. No other changes (insurance etc.) occured and my shortage was totaled as $112. Not correct...
The late fees were the direct result of checks being held, by Midland, from one month to the next to make-up insufficiant payments. This began when my insurance carrier changed. My coverage was higher however, I paid the full amount in a lump sum so as not to change my payment schedule and Midland used the lump sum check, sum $1,020.00 to prorate and advance payments (check was not intended for that). By the time I streighten that out late fees were assesed.
Midland continues to send notices that I need credit help. That's not the case.
I have supporting documentations from the bank and County Tax Accessor's Office.
