Ripoff they scam you into believing they are helping you improve your credit and supplying you with a mastercard, but instead they take 245$ straight from your bank account

I think I applied for a mastercard online. I got something in my mailbox one day and foolishly, I thought it sounded good so I put my application in. Shortly after I kept getting this 555-555-1212 number on my cell phone. They didnt stop calling me for about a week so I got mad and picked up.

At first I was going to tell them off, but this really sweet sounding girl was on the other end, and she seemed very honest. Seemed - key word. Well, as it turns out this whole thing is a scam. The girl told me I already got approved for a mastercard and their company's main goal was to help me improve my credit, with zero % apr for 3 years, and then after a few months my credit limit would be upped from $2,000- $10,000. So I was like woah that amazing. That's really good. And she was like yes it is... She said she would need my bank account number, tracking number, social security number, address, and I even gave her my new address that I am moving to in 2 weeks.

So these people have ALL of my information. She said I would be receiving my credit card in about 30 days and that they would take out $249 on May 8th. I was put on the line with someone else and they verified each statement.

I began thinking they were very unprofessional. Both people were young and the second person I talked to was almost laughing at times. Its sick really now that I think of it and how trusting I was, and how easy it is to get away with that kind of thing.

I am wondering why these people haven't been stopped already??? You would think there would be some kind of investigation done by now. Anyways, I had a bad feeling about the information I just gave. So I looked up online Sureway Beneficial and they came up under scam artists. I called my bank immediately. (and I called the toll free number "Sureway Beneficial" gave me and it was busy twice, and some weird message came on another. I told them they sucked.

The bank gave me this information:

Call the credit reporting buereaus to get a Fraud alert put on your account so every time someone tries to apply under anything thats under you name, that you will get notice of it. Because if you gave these people all of your information and social security number, there is a lot they can do with that. Look what they are getting away with now?

Here are the numbers the bank gave me.

Equifax - 1 800 525 6285
TransUnion - 1 800 680 7289
another one i dont have the name 1 888 397 3742

This is a good idea to protect yourself from getting in deeper with these losers who kick you when you're down.
