Ripoff! Refused to credit payments, refused to give honest payoff, forced bankruptcy, ballooned payoff and foreclosure Ut

When my husband lost his job after 9/11, we fell behind in the mortgage, which had been sold to a company called Fairbanks. We tried to re-negotiate the mortgage, and work with them, but their idea of helping was a forbearance agreement with a higher mortgage payment.

We sent a certified check for $2000 in Winter and a personal check after that to make a monthly payment -but the personal check was returned uncashed and the certified check was never credited to the account. As we fell further behind in the mortgage, we finally filed for bankruptcy.

However, Olympus (which was their new name) filed for exemption and won. We found ourselves in the first of three Sheriff Sales this company tried. As we continued to fight, we managed to stop the first Sheriff Sale, but now had an even higher mortgage payment to pay.

We were still unable to pay this outrageous payment, hired a lawyer, and battled to stop the second Sheriff Sale while trying to obtain a payoff amount to get away from these people. No one would give us an accurate payoff - it changed almost each day. However, they did finally credit the 2002 payment of $2000 - it only took 2 years!

So my husband sent his family inheritance to try and get the mortgage current -which was $10,000 - but after they received it, they wanted another $8,000 on top of that! Unable to pay that, we attempted to give them $1200 but they refused it - returned it - and sent us to Sheriff Sale for the third time.

As of today, my husband, three children and I - along with our family pets - have lost our home to this company.in a last ditch effort to stop the sale again, we obtained a pre-approval for a new mortgage, but the company - now SPServicing - ballooned the payoff amount by $20,000. Watch your mortgage company - stay away from Utah!
