I have true story to share with those that would listen in regaurd to primerica. First off, a little about myself., i am a professional person, having spent over twenty years in law enforcement, and having owned five legitimate businesses myself, as state licenced owner, president, and general manager. I have owned a business employing over 100 people, and had recived 5 star ratings from state regulators. I can only speak about my experience the manner in which this company recruits. First of all it is an MLM! There can be no debating that! Secondly, there is a cultish air about them, and they tend their flock... I will say this has all occured over past several months. My story begins, when my fiancee of three years, desparate for a job she could do from home, due to medical issues, ran accross them on the internet. No time at all did the "regional vice president" and wife do there ludicrous interview with her, in a charismatic fashion, promising all the money to be made, and owning many franchises herself in a short period of time, even though they only had one! After several years! Now you must know that my fiancee is very gullible to that type of tactic, having attempted many MLM s in the recent past, that never really amounted to the promises made! But i supported her in her endeavor anyway. Helped her study for her licensing exam, which by the way, you have to pay for yourself! Along with the $99 bucks for their study guide-they justify this by stating: "its your commitment to us that your serious", bunch of hogwash! What legitamate employer requires you to pay to work and sell products for them, or to be recruited? My red flags were waving at that point, but they had brainwashed her so thouroughly with their tactics and promises. That i showing a little scepticism kept quite. After many more ""conference calls", as they tout them, which are really motivational speaches to keep you "fired up" with their promises, and several attempts at her expense, she passed her test. During this period, they and she even tried to recruit me, which i went along with, but more to keep an eye on things for her sake. Now, having signed up, im a bonnafied recruit myself... But things began to tale a turn for the sureal! I noticed she became more and more distant from me, when she would have training sessions to attend, even with the so called "regional VP", that i should have attended, i was told it would be rude for me to go! Being a recruit myself! Now red flags are really flying! I was told that the VP was totally "stoked" about me comming on board! So what gives? Well i soon found out! You see, they also had an upcomming anuall conference in atlanta, ga. Which i even as a recruit like her at the time was not allowed to attend suddenly! But she sure went, and stayed in a hotel room with 12 other people! What kinda company allows that? For 4 days! Paying your own airfaire! More red flags! The night before the conference, this last july, she was rushed to the hospital with her medical condition. She called me at home to come pick her up. I raced there to help her. My cell phone however was dead, didnt have charger with me and needed to phone my brother. When i arrived, she lying on e.R. Bed was texting frantically on her phone. I asked if she had eaten, and would take her to get something when we got her released. She said she had to go to a training session after hospital with the VP and a guy named louis. I asked, wow, i need to go too, i need the training too. She said no not this time, again it would be rude! Now, as a recruit like her, that made no sense! More red flags! I asked her who louis was and why he gets trained and i dont? She responded he was someone with primerica and it would be basically rude for me to horn in on the meeting so to speak. She said, while frantically texting"im trying to get hold of him now, to make sure hes gonna be there" but she could never justify why i couldnt! More red flags. I told her about my phone situation, and that i needed to make a call when she was done. Her reaction was nothing short of insane outta no where! She wouldnt allow me to use her phone! Now im wondering what the heck! Id never seen her that way toward me. After a lot of pleading and violent behavior toward me, and telling me to go smoke a cigarette then come back, that i could use phone then. What does all this tell you? Well same here shes hiding something she doesent want me to see on that phone. Upon my return, she reluctantly allowed me to take phone outside and use it. Of course i immediatlely looked at call info. The "louis" guys number was in contacts. Then i called my brother, no sooner did he answer, here she comes boiling out of hospital screaming at me stating this is the last straw! I in shock, drove her to her car, which was left at a nearby drs. Office, where she told me in an angry manner, and dont follow me to meeting either!!! She drove away. Obviously, i was crushed. I wanted to make amends for some reason, even though couldnt figure out what i had done wrong. So, i drove to her residence only to observe her and her mothers vehicles there! Thought she was attending a meeting? I didnt make contact, but went home destroyed. A week passes, suddenly i get an invite on my phone to join a "conference" call with primerica, i obliged, only to hear a rambleing woman, who turned out to be the VPs wife giving a motivational speech. Listened for 10 mins! I never heard anyone talk so fast! I couldnt get a word in inchwise! Thought it was a conference call. I had questions, but when i interuped asking if this was another MLM, which i knew it was, i was promptly chastized by the VP who also listening, told me i was disrespectful, and asked to hang up! I did! A few days later, i met her mother in my driveway who was bringing some of my belongings back from their house. We had a long talk, she verified that the louis guy was her (daughters) "latest", and that he was with primerica!!! I learned that a party unknown had met her there that night and took her somewhere! Ill bet we can guess who! Apparentlely there was no real meeting, at least the one as advertized anyway! It reminded me of several complaints i have read about similar incidents with their reps and such sleeping with wives and husbands. Seems theres no limit to what they will do to recruit! Now ive lost the love of my life, that took 40 years of hell to find! Im 51 years old but feel 70 now! All thanks to this rotten cultish organization. They tell you all their promises, then dangle "fancy titles'" over you, such as recriut a few people and bam! Your a district manager, sell some life policies, and recruit more, and bam! Your a regional vice president! Now in any legitamate organization, how many regional vice presidents per region? You guessed it 1! In a district, how many district managers, yep, 1! You see its part of their tactics psychologically, to give the impression that your somebody suddenly! Its just a title that means nothing but ego boosting! This appeals to people who are down on their luck, those that for whatever reason, crave a since of belonging... As a district manager with them, what are you really managing? There are hundreds of them in the so called district! Same true with the regional vice president bullshit! Sorry this was so long, but its in a nutshell, i could say more that i know. But ill close with some sage advise, comming from a real businessman... If you are approached by this cultish organization, dont walk away, RUN!!! Save yourself a lot of grief and wasted time!
