I bought an ASUS notebook from Best Buy and the battery would not charge. I took it back to Best Buy in El Cajon California and was informed that the exchange period was a few days past. Fine, I asked if I should just contact the manufacturer to get the battery replaced. The extremely uninformed customer service rep at the counter told me no manufacturers will fix a battery issue and they are not under warranty. She then implied I may have caused the problem by leaving it plugged in for a month and burning the battery out myself, even though I had told her I first tried it the day before. Her attitude was dismissive and smug. After decades of shopping at Best Buy and spending over 3k just this year in products from that store I will never shop there again and will tell anyone I can convince to boycott them also. On the flip side I called ASUS and their product support was wonderful and they confirmed that the battery was covered under warranty and I simply needed to ship it to a service center and get it repaired. So not only was the woman at Best Buy rude, she also told me incorrect information that may have kept me from getting my product fixed.
