Poor record keeping, out to get all the homes and money they can and ruin the credit standing of individuals RIPOFF

We had gotten behind in our mortgage with WAMU and was working with the Homeowners Assistance Program. They gave us a Fax number to send paperwork to then stated that they never received the paperwork. They then stated that the Fax number we were given was the wrong one and to resend the Fax to a different number.

We were eventually sent Foreclosure notices and told that even though we were working with them foreclosure could occur. We placed our home for sale prior to the set foreclosure date and sold our house prior to foreclosure. We are now showing on our credit report that we have a collections against us due to a foreclosure and a shortage due to the foreclosure sale. No foreclosure or foreclosure sale occurred.

I attempted to call WAMU and after speaking to 3 different customer service representatives was informed that their records indicated no receipt of payment from the closing title company on the sale of our house. They showed that our account was in an "open" status and was sent to a Loss Mitigation company for review.

I contacted our closing title company and the representative who conducted our closing called WAMU indicating to them that she had in her possession the receipt for the pay off check sent to WAMU on the sale of our house, along with a copy of the cashed check. The closing representative attempted to speak to a representative from WAMU's Homeowners Assistance/Loss Mitagation department and was told that they could not speak to her.

I recontacted WAMU and was connected to their Foreclosure department. I was told that our account was under review by a third party loss mitigation company. I was transferred to a representative from that company and was informed that he could not understand why our inquiry was referred to them as our house had sold prior to foreclosure. His company only deals with homes which have gone to foreclosure sale, this is not the case with our home.

The different departments at WAMU, ie foreclosure, Homeowners Assistance, escrow etc do not communicate with each other in regards to loans. WAMU will approve a sale then claim that they did not receive the funds or are reviewing the records. They will place information on your credit report prior to it occurring, ie sale at foreclosure as in our case, causing the individual (s) problems with other mortgage or credit companies due to the false credit report WAMU filed.

WAMU has inept supervision, no communications within their own company, will not take the time to assist callers and direct them to the proper individuals or departments. WAMU is apparently out to own all home mortgages and foreclose on every home they can. They are also attempting to ruin the credit standing of people so other mortgage companies cannot get loans finalized and will then sell or transfer their mortgages to WAMU.

WAMU apparently wants to monopolize the home mortgage business and own as much mortgaged property as it can so it can foreclose and fill its pockets with money.
