It has been a year since this started. Because I was going to be away from home, I had sent a payment via mail around Dec 18 for a payment due January 6 to give time for Christmas mail congestion. When I checked my statement in January, the payment had not gone in, and my rate had jumped from 9.6% to 27.9%. Called to get this rectified. They brought it down temporarily.
The next payment I made on-time online, and they claimed I was late. The rate jumped back up and has remained so despite calls and letters to their offices and assurances that my account would be reviewed every 6 months for rate decreases.
They have no intention of ever decreasing my rate. They insulted me indicating that I'm loser who refuses to pay and a whiner who won't live with the consequences of my actions—even though all my other cards are at 12% and are in good standing.
