Hoax rip off of personal checking information

Today I looked at a local newspaper and answered an ad in a for a job offering "Excellent Income", hiring courthouse researchers to make money at home on my computer.

The # I called was 1-800-440 7234.
A female representative named DRU told me that if I paid $89.00 for a licensing fee and software, the software and program would would be sent to me to learn how to do the job for which I would be paid 50% from each each sale made by names I found of people owning private deeds.

In order to get the licence I needed to pay by check over the phone, (had I ever done that?) & no credit card was needed. They wouldn't need my soc #, just give them all the info off one of my checks and answer a few simple questions.

I expressed my concern over doing that because I knew nothing about their company, and the representative said I could get on their website through the site of the Fair Business Association of America. From there type in www.ncfgnotes to read all about their company and everything I needed to know about them. The phone # there is 480-831-9025.

I did it like a fool, and ended upo voiding one of my checks to them. They even told me to immediately call my bank to say that this amount would be deducted just one time.

When I got off the phone I felt so odd, that I immediately went to search their company and the FBAA. I found that did not exist in any searches except this one!

I went to my bank right off and stopped all action on that account and opened a new one. I feel really betrayed, but I also accept the responsibilty for falling for this. It was because I needed to make extra money and the websites looked so official. Now they have my address, phone number and more. It feels awful!

I also had to notify parties who make direct deposit into that account and much more.

I notified the newspapers where I saw their ads and what I found out about them. They will most likely remove them.

I sincerely hope the media can inform people of hoaxes like this one. People should be warned more often like on TV or something, or posters and mailings.

I intend to spread the word in our local papers. Thanks for the opportunity to vent about them and I won't forget RIP OFF REPORT.
